The Creator Update of Windows 10 includes Night Light. Night Light is the blue light filter that makes your display use warmer colors at night to help you sleep better and reduce eyestrain. This one works like Night Shift on the iPhone and Mac, Night Mode on Android, Blue Shade on the Fire tablets of Amazon, and the f.lux app that started it all.
The screen radiates the bright blue light that looks a lot like the sun, throwing off the internal clock of the body at night and preventing the secretion of melatonin, that can cause you to become sleepy. A thing called Night Light can make the screen use dimme, can warm the colors at night, and can help you sleep. Aside from better sleep, some people think that using the softer colors, especially in darkened rooms, is just easier on their eyes.
How to enable the Night Light? You will be able to find the Night light option at Settings > System > Display if your Windows 10 PC has been upgraded to the Creators Update. You can set the Night Light feature to On to enable it, or Off to disable it.
When you enable Might Light feature during the day, this feature will not take effect immediately. Instead, you will see that it is off until unknown time in your current location. At sunset, the name of the time displayed in the window, Windows automatically enables the Night Light filter. Aside from that, Windows automatically disables it at sunrise as well.
You are able to configure the Night Light further by clicking the “Night Light settings” link under the toggle. All that you have to do is to click the “Turn On Now” or “Turn Off Now” button in order to immediately enable or disable the Night Light feature. It is fine what time of day it is. You are able to use this button to see exactly what Night Light mode looks like without waiting for sunset.
If you like, you an adjust the color temperature at night slider to make the colors on the screen look cooler or warmer. You will be able to see the colors change on the screen as you drag the slider so you are able to immediately see what different colors will look like. It is better for you to choose the color temperature that most comfortable for you. However, please keep in mind that choosing the color temperature for to the right side of the slider will cause Windows 10 to not filter much blue light at all, reducing the effectiveness of Night Light.
In the end, Windows will automatically set up a schedule for Night Light after you enable it. it will activate Night Light from sunset to sunrise. In addition, it will adjust those times to stay in sync with the movements of the sun in the geographical location. On top of that, you are able to manually schedule Night Light hours.
