About WIND (AM 560)
WIND or AM 560 is a radio station which is based in Chicago, Illinois. It broadcasts its talk radio format on 560 kHz. The studios of this radio station are in suburban Elk Grove Village and it transmits from a four-tower array in Griffith, Indiana.
Salem Media is the owner of WIND. It is a company which specializes mainly in Christian radio. The daytime signal of WIND serves at least secondary coverage to much of Illinois and Indiana and southeastern Wisconsin as well. It is because of its location which is near the bottom of the AM dial, transmitter power and the flat land of the surrounding region. How, at night, the coverage of WIND into Indiana and Central Illinois is reduced. It is because its pattern of nighttime concentrates its signal in the Chicago and Milwauykee areas.
